About Historic Method

No one wants to live and die only to be forgotten. A community has the same desire. It is not the physical buildings or infrastructure that cries out through the years and generations to be remembered but the souls that lived, worked, played, and worshipped in that village. So much of Black African American history has been lost to the grave or destroyed in the name of progress. Many of the elders that lived during a different era leave this earth without ever having the opportunity to publish their history. The purpose of the Historic Method Community website is to preserve the history of this Black "AfrIndian" (African-Native American Indian) community through global dissemination.

One of the features of the website is the family histories. All too often other people tell the history of a people. We wanted each of the "old" families to be represented and to share their memories of life in Method with you. Many of them attended the community school, Berry O'Kelly School, which later became Berry O'Kelly High School. In the future, a page for Berry O'Kelly alumni to share their memories of attending this historic institution.

Periodically, the website will be updated. You will know when this has been done by referring to the "last update" at the bottom of this page. Thank you for visiting our virtual community and come again soon!
